IMO has set a global limit for sulphur in fuel oil used on board ships of 0.50% m/m
(mass by mass) from 1 January 2020. This will significantly reduce the amount of
sulphur oxide emanating from ships and should have major health and environmental
benefits for the world, particularly for populations living close to ports and coasts.
*MARPOL Annex VI
“Regulation 14
Sulphur Oxides (SOx) and Particulate Matter
1 The sulphur content of any fuel oil used on board ships shall not exceed the
following limits:
.1 4.50% m/m prior to 1 January 2012;
.2 3.50% m/m on and after 1 January 2012; and
.3 0.50% m/m on and after 1 January 2020.”
VMSC would like to introduce our new system Exhaust Gas Scrubber with following feature:
* SOx removal efficiency up to 99%
* Lower water consumption
* Lower energy consumption
* Totally clean design of internal Scrubber
* Smaller and lighter scrubber tower
* Multiple operation modes
* Compact space
* Lower gas emission backpressure
* No noise produced
* Dry running capability
* Easy maintenance
* Modularized design and installation
Intelligent control system
